The third volume of this series continues to disprove stereotypes about teenage mothers, written by those who refuse to be defined by them. As it is for all of us, discovering who they are is a work in progress. The anthology offers teenage mothers a way to express themselves (!) and become published authors at the same time. The girls are students of The Chiles Academy, a charter high school for teenage mothers, which also offers childcare and training in parenting skills. They often write about the mistakes they have made, countered by the wonderful gifts they have received in the form of their children, and their voices belie many faulty societal representations of pregnant and parent teens.
